William Daylor High School is an alternative credit recovery high school in the Elk Grove Unified School District. We are an accredited WASC school that welcomes all students. Our goal is to provide a safe and nurturing environment where students can thrive and earn their high school diploma.

Why Choose Us?

A Small Learning Environment
We understand that students all learn differently. With our small class sizes, teachers can work closely with students to give direct, personalized instruction and develop nurturing relationships that go beyond academics.

Opportunities to Catch Up and Accelerate
We offer flexible scheduling. Students begin their day at 8:30 AM and finish at 2:28 PM (Tues-Friday) and 1:05 PM (Monday). We have a five-period day, and each course is worth five credits. We run on a nine-week quarter system; therefore, students can earn 100 credits in one academic year.

Career Technical Education
We encourage students to explore their career interests. William Daylor is a place of opportunity with career driven CTE courses that allow you to earn college credits. We offer the following programs:

  • Education, Child Development and Family Services (formerly Careers with Children)
This course is designed to provide a comprehensive overview of the various careers that involve working with children. Students practice guidance, lesson planning and presentation, age appropriate activities, and classroom management. Following pre-training, students work with a training site teacher and children to practice skills and explore classroom teaching as a career. This course qualifies students for Early Childhood Education units at Cosumnes River College.
  • Building Trades
This course is designed to provide students with a basic understanding of carpentry and the many skilled trades utilized by residential and commercial construction. This course emphasizes safety, using hand and power tools, and the completion of three scaffolded projects designed to provide a framework for career-based decision making in residential and commercial construction.

Free Licensed Childcare For Our Pregnant & Parenting Teen Students
William Daylor High School offers childcare services for teen mothers and fathers attending any of the high schools in the Elk Grove Unified School District. Students who choose to remain at their high school must have transportation to go back and forth. These students can transfer and attend Daylor as well. The Child Development Center hours are 8:00 AM-3:30 PM, Monday through Friday. All children must have current immunizations and physicals signed off by a physican before being enrolled. Please contact Ms. Kim Smith, Child Development Director, for more information:  KTSmith@egusd.net or call (916) 831-2727.

Graduation Options
William Daylor High School students can earn a regular Elk Grove Unified School District high school diploma. Some students may also have the option of returning to their home school to complete coursework and graduate.

Students fall behind in credits for a variety of reasons, and we are here to help them get back on track. With our small class sizes and nurturing educational environment, we want your student to feel safe and secure so they can earn a high school diploma and succeed in their post-secondary endeavors.
